Today, I am going to make a quick and easy homemade traditional Greek Salad by using dressing and toss it all together for the perfect side any day of the week!

Greek Salad is healthy and delicious salad which comes from Greek Cuisine. It is also called Horiatiki Salad . To make a traditional Greek Salad, we need tomatoes, cucumber, onion (red), feta cheese and olives. We can also add capsicum, salt and olive oil.

First, we have to make Greek Salad Dressing before starting to make Traditional Greek Salad. You might be thinking about how to make Greek salad dressing. It is really easy with very few ingredients. Add vinegar, a bit of olive oil, fresh lemon juice, a pinch of sugar and seasonings into a mason jar, seal the lid and shake it up nicely.

The next step is to prepare your veggies by cutting them into bite sized pieces. After cutting red onions I soak them in ice water while I process the other ingredients of the salad. After that cut your capsicam, tomatoes, lettuce, and cucumbers into bite sized pieces. If your tomatoes are super juicy, lay them out on a paper towel for reducing extra juiciness while you cut them so you don’t wind up with a runny salad.

Finally, assemble this beautiful salad. Add all of your Greek salad ingredients into a mixing bowl. And now crumble feta cheese over the top and toss with your homemade Greek salad dressing.

Ingredients
For Salad:
  • 1 pc Red Onion sliced
  • 1/4 cup Pitted Kalamata Olives
  • 1 pc Capsicum chopped
  • 2 pcs Lettuce
  • 4 pcs Tomatoes chopped
  • 1 pc Cucumber (Long)
  • 1 cup Crumbled Feta Cheese
For Dressing
  • 1/3 cup Olive Oil
  • 1/2 pc Lemon Juice
  • 2 tbsp Vinegar (Red Wine)
  • 1 pinch Sugar
  • 1 tsp Oregano
  • 1/2 tsp Basil
Instructions
  1. Add olive oil, lemon juice, red wine vinegar, sugar, oregano and basil in a small bowl and mix all the ingredients nicely.

  2. Now add tomatoes, cucumber, lettuce, red onion diced, capsicum, olives and feta cheese in a large bowl.

  3. Finally, tossed with dressing and sprinkle with cheese on top of the salad and now serve it.
